Reiki Therapy

What is Reiki?

The practice of Reiki is a method of healing developed by Mikao Usui in Japan in the early part of the 20th century. Reiki is a complementary therapy, a free flow of energy in the body, also known as a form of spiritual healing or a form of faith healing. It is known as ‘ki’ in Japan, ‘chi’ in China and ‘prana’ in India. Acupuncture, T’ai chi and Yoga are also based on the free-flow of this energy.

Reiki is a non-invasive therapy to restore the body's balance for good health.

Some of the benefits of Reiki are:

-
Deep relaxation
- Pain and stress relief
- Promotes good health
- Reduction in the side-effects of medicines and treatments
- Chakra Balancing / Clearing
- Helps to overcoming Bereavement
- Combats Addiction, depression and anxiety
- Increases Self-Esteem
- Alleviates sleep disorders

One of the greatest Reiki healing health benefits is stress reduction and relaxation, which triggers the body's natural healing abilities, and improves and maintains health. Reiki healing is a natural therapy that gently balances life energies and brings health and well being to the recipient.

Reiki encourages and supports positive personal choices, such as improving diet, taking more exercise and greater inner harmony and balance, regular Reiki treatments promote a calmer response to life’s challenges.

Reiki’s gentle energy may be used safely by people of all ages and is easily adapted to most medical conditions. Reiki works effectively alongside orthodox healthcare and natural remedies, expanding treatment options. Reiki can enhance everyday living, and regular sessions may help to promote a healthier state of being.

Reiki energy will work to align the seven primary Chakras throughout the body which will improve your life balance and changes will occur in your life relating the particular areas each Chakra is responsible for. See Chakra page for more details.

What happens during Reiki session?

No pressure is applied during a Reiki treatment it is non-diagnostic and non-manipulative. A session is usually carried out with the client lying down or sitting, in a comfortable and peaceful environment. There is no need to remove any clothing as Reiki energy passes easily through all materials. The actual treatment involves the gentle placement of hands, non-intrusively, in a sequence of positions over the body. Reiki treats the whole person rather than specific symptoms.

The sessions will be held at my home in Glen Parva, please see the Session Prices page for more details and feel free to contact me to book a session or if you have any questions.

Note: Reiki is now being used in various locations including private practice, complementary therapy centres, GP surgeries, hospitals, hospices, cancer support groups, post-operative recovery, drug rehabilitation, prisons, HIV/AIDS centres, and in the care of the elderly.
